Cookie Policy

Amvix sets no cookies. This page explains what that means, what happens instead, and what would change if it ever stopped being true.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store, and which the browser then sends back on later visits. Cookies are how sites remember a signed-in session, keep the contents of a shopping basket, or recognise a returning visitor for advertising and analytics purposes.

This site sets none

Amvix does not set any cookie of its own, and it permits no third party to set a cookie through it. Specifically, there is:

• no analytics service of any kind — no Google Analytics, no alternative, no self-hosted counter;
• no advertising tag, conversion pixel, retargeting script or affiliate tracking cookie placed by this site;
• no social media embed, share widget, comment system, video player or chat widget;
• no session identifier, because there is nothing to sign in to;
• no A/B testing or personalisation tool.

Because nothing is set, there is no consent banner on this site. A banner asking permission for cookies that do not exist would be a false statement, and there is nothing here for you to permit or refuse.

The one thing worth being precise about: the affiliate links on this site are ordinary links. Following one takes you to another company's website, and what that company does once you arrive is governed by its own cookie policy, not by this one. Nothing is placed on your device while you are reading Amvix.

What happens instead

Hosting logs

The provider hosting this site keeps ordinary server access logs, as any web server does. Each request produces an entry containing the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the response code and a timestamp. These are used for diagnostics and security, are retained for up to 90 days, and are described in the privacy policy. They are not cookies: nothing is stored on your device and nothing identifies you across visits by design.

Google Fonts

Amvix loads two typefaces from Google Fonts, which is the only external service any page here contacts. When your browser fetches those font files, Google receives your IP address and the standard headers a browser sends with any request. Google sets no cookie through this, and nothing comes back to us. Google describes its handling of such data in its privacy policy.

No browser storage either

Beyond cookies, Amvix uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. It performs no device or browser fingerprinting — it does not read your fonts, canvas, audio stack or hardware characteristics to build an identifier. The only script on the site is a short, readable, first-party file that opens and closes the navigation menu. You can read it at /assets/main.js. It makes no network requests and writes nothing anywhere.

Controlling cookies in general

Nothing here needs blocking, but every major browser lets you manage cookies regardless, and it is worth knowing where. The controls live in the privacy or security section of the browser's settings, usually offering the ability to view and delete stored cookies, to block third-party cookies, to block all cookies, and to clear everything when the browser closes. Browsers also provide a private or incognito mode that discards cookies at the end of the session. Blocking all cookies will break sign-in on many other sites, which is why blocking third-party cookies is the more common setting.

If this ever changes

Should Amvix ever introduce a cookie — for analytics, for advertising measurement, or for any other reason — this page will be rewritten to name each cookie, its purpose and its lifespan, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before the first one is set. That commitment is the reason this page lists nothing: no cookie name appears here because no cookie exists, and inventing a list to look thorough would defeat the point.
